The Way in Network
The Way in Network is a migrant women's association that began in 1992 with the aim of supporting and assisting women migrating to New South Wales to integrate into Australian society. Their Executive, led by President Annie Tang, is shown here handing AGCF a significant donation raised at their 22nd Anniversary celebration.
An important aspect of the work of the Way in Network is helping women migrating from Asia, no matter their heritage or profession find a sense of belonging in Australian society.
The association primarily assists women from Hong Kong, the People's Republic of China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Taiwan. From Indigenous youth programs and children’s hospitals to disaster recovery appeals, such as bushfires in NSW and earthquakes in China and Haiti, the Way in Network has helped thousands of people over its 25 year history.
In 2017 AGCF formed a partnership with the Way In Network, to create a new post-doctoral fellowship grant to support a research project aligned to the AGCF priorities. The award is designed to support an outstanding science, nursing, allied health or medical graduate who has completed a PhD within the last 5 years and seeks funding to undertake further research. Way in Network will present a special Charity Ball on Saturday 4th March 2017 at the Westin Hotel Grand Ballroom to celebrate their 25th anniversary and International Women’s Day and to raise funds for this award.
